2.Eligibility Requirements

Based on the goals of the Nursery, the following conditions must be met.
Note for short-term visitors (1–3 months) from overseas:
Children of short-term visitors such as researchers invited from overseas or international students, etc. are accepted as “privately admitted children” if there are difficulties in applying for the Approval of Necessity of Childcare Assistance under the Comprehensive Support System for Children and Child-Rearing (eligibility class 3) at their municipality. Please click here for details.

1. Applicants must score at least 6 points or more in accordance with the Use Standards for the fiscal year 2020.

3. Applicants must have applied for the Approval of Necessity of Childcare Assistance (eligibility class 3) under the Comprehensive Support System for Children and Child-Rearing, and been certified for the Standard Time Service.

Please submit a copy of the certificate of approval as soon as you have received it.

Note:
The applicants must pay monthly fees determined by their local municipality for the enrolled child certified for the Comprehensive Support System for Children and Child-Rearing (eligibility class 3).

4. The Application for Daycare Center Admission has been submitted to the applicant’s local municipality, but a certificate of approval has not been given (not admitted).

A copy of the submitted application form and a copy of the notice of non-acceptance must be submitted when applying for the Nursery.

Notes:

– When submitting the application to the city, residents of Ota City must include “Tech Tech Nursery” as one facility at which they wish their children to be enrolled.

– Applicants must remain on a wait-list for another daycare center (submit the Application for Daycare Center Admission/Switching) even after their child is admitted to the Nursery to secure a spot for long-term use. The enrolled child must be withdrawn immediately if another daycare center or caregiver becomes available to take care of the child.

– When submitting the application to the local municipality, applicants must list all commutable daycare centers as daycare center choices.

– When the application is for multiple children, applicants cannot request placement with the condition that all their children be admitted to the same daycare center.

5. Applicants must understand and agree to the mission and objectives of the Nursery.
6. Applicants must understand and agree to the management policy of the daycare service provider entrusted by the Institute, and make an effort to cooperate with the provider and follow their instructions to ensure smooth running of the facility.

Accepted applications will be terminated if the applicant is responsible for serious problems affecting childcare at the Nursery.

– Children of researchers invited from overseas (including for the JSPS program) or international students, etc. are accepted as “privately admitted children,” a status categorized by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, if there are difficulties in applying for the Approval of Necessity of Childcare Assistance under the Comprehensive Support System for Children and Child-Rearing (eligibility class 3), and meet the above required items 1, 2, 5, and 6. Privately admitted children are charged at a different rate. Please click here for details.

– Notwithstanding the eligibility requirements above, we may accept children of ineligible applicants “who are actually engaged in research and education activities at the Institute for 30 hours or more per week,” considering their work and relationship with the Institute, under the following conditions.
・Children starting in or after November: three or more of the spots allocated for Tokyo Tech are available, and
there are no interested eligible applicants as of the deadline (20th of the month preceding the start date).
・Children starting in or after January: two or more of the spots allocated for Tokyo Tech are available, and
there are no interested eligible applicants as of the deadline (20th of the month preceding the start date).

– Decisions will be made based on the order of requested start dates rather than the application date. However, this does not apply to applicants relocating from overseas or distant locations of Japan. If the number of applicants who request the same start date exceeds capacity, the decision will be made separately by the Committee.

– Admitted applicants’ children will be enrolled for a period starting on the first day of each month (excluding privately admitted children).

– Applicants’ children may be permitted to use the Nursery as “privately admitted children” from the day after notification of admission until the end of the month only if the child has already officially been admitted from the first day of the following month.

– Admitted applicants are requested to contact the daycare service provider as soon as admission is confirmed, and prepare necessary documents and other items.

– Due to limited space, applicants may not be admitted even if their application form has been accepted.
